The Department of Health and Social Care has launched the interim NHS People Plan which will secure the workforce to deliver the NHS Long Term Plan and build an NHS fit for the future. You can read the plan here.
The plan sets out how the NHS will:
- Increase the number of staff
- Make the NHS “the best place to work”
- Equip staff to meet the challenges of 21st century healthcare
The government has also launched proposals to make pensions more flexible for senior clinicans to improve retention.
