Views on Public Health Survey Sought

Views are sought from public health and medical professionals on the long-running Health Survey for England.

The annual survey has been running since 1991 and provides a wealth of data for the monitoring of trends in the nation's health and delivering improvements in healthcare.

Issues such as blood pressure, height and weight, smoking, drinking and general health are covered by the survey. Among other purposes, information is used to estimate the proportion of people with specified health conditions and look at the risk factors associated with these conditions.

The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) is consulting on issues including how the survey is used and what users' priorities are, what aspects of the survey should remain and what innovations are wanted, and what information users would like from the survey over the next few years.

The consultation is open until Monday 30 December 2013 and more information can be found here.
