Doctor Dies in Operating Theatre

A surgeon died last Wednesday while performing surgery on a patient at an Aveiro hospital.

The doctor, aged 52, was in the process of removing a patient's thyroid when he complained of chest pains. The doctor was removed from the operating theatre and taken to a separate section of the hospital.

But despite several attempts to revive the surgeon, he was pronounced dead on Wednesday at 1pm.

An Aveiro Hospital source admitted that the doctor had felt ill the day before, and had decided to undergo some tests. But as the results came back fine, the doctor decided to report for duty as normal last Wednesday.
