HCPC Appoints New Chair of Council

Elaine is a HCPC Council member and has worked as an HCPC partner for 10 years assessing overseas applications and sitting on the conduct and competency panels.

Marc Seale, Chief Executive and Registrar, HCPC said:

“I would like to thank out-going Chair Anna van der Gaag for her contribution and commitment to regulation and the work of the HCPC over the last nine years. During this time, the HCPC has doubled in size and taken on four additional professions, while continually delivering transparent, proportionate and effective regulation.”

“I look forward to working with Elaine who has already proved to be a valuable member of Council. As Chair, Elaine will lead the Council, providing strategic direction, encouraging accountability to the public and professions and ensuring we fulfil our primary function of protecting the public. It is a rewarding and fulfilling position that has great impact.”

Elaine Buckley, Council Member, HCPC said:

“I am pleased to have been appointed Chair of HCPC and will build on the legacy left by Anna van der Gaag. A key priority for me in particular will be to continue to build evidence based regulation processes and to promote the wider benefits of being a regulated professional.”
