New Campaign Highlights the Benefits of Promoting Your HCPC Registration

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) has launched a new campaign to encourage registrants to promote their HCPC registration. It highlights the benefits to registered health and care professionals, as well as showcasing the range of free resources available to support them.

The ‘Promoting your registration’ section on the HCPC website has been updated and refreshed as part of the campaign. Registrants can find guidance and information about existing resources created to help promote their registration. These include the HCPC registration logo, which can be downloaded and displayed on marketing materials; and free public information posters and leaflets, which can be displayed in waiting rooms and public areas. The new-look webpages also present registrant feedback on the importance of promoting their HCPC registration; plus brand new case studies profiling how private practitioners have benefitted from marketing their registered status.

The campaign follows the findings of a recent online survey, which indicated that a quarter of registrants who responded are not currently taking advantage of the resources available to help them promote their registration. The survey also revealed that 73% of respondents felt that the best way to promote their registration was by displaying the HCPC registration logo. This was closely followed by displaying information materials in their place of work, and encouraging service users to use the Check the Register mobile app. Encouragingly, registrants cited the HCPC Online Register as one of the best ways to inform patients and service users of their registration, with 62% using it to evidence their registered status.

Council Chair and HCPC registrant, Elaine Buckley, said:

“We are committed to supporting health and care professionals to promote their registered status. HCPC registration reassures service users that you continue to meet national standards for your training, professional skills and behaviour; and, importantly, differentiates you from non-regulated professionals. It is vital that we continue to promote these messages with the help of our registrants and stakeholders, and that we provide the necessary resources to ensure this happens.”
