Leeds Hospitals Surgery Postponed after IT Problem

Some hospital appointments and surgery at Leeds hospitals have had to be postponed because of "significant" problems with an IT system.

The problem is with the pathology IT system

It is not known how many patients are affected by the issues with a system that informs doctors of test results.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals trust said it had been "experiencing some significant problems with our pathology IT system".

If patients are worried they should contact their outpatient clinic, clinician or GP, the trust said.

Suzanne Hinchliffe, chief nurse and deputy chief executive of the trust, said: "To ensure the safety of our patients, our doctors are reviewing and prioritising those with urgent or emergency needs."

Leeds General Infirmary, St James's, Chapel Allerton, Wharfedale and Seacroft hospitals are all reporting issues.

X-rays and scans are not affected but blood tests are, the trust said.
